World Thinking Day 2010

Event Coordinator:  Patty Sahli

Hosting Troop:  Cadette 732

Our celebration will be on Sunday, February 21 at the PHV Elementary School, from 2-5 pm.  Set up will take place prior to 2 pm.  It is expected that all troops will help in the clean up process after the event.  If we'll pitch in, we can all get home sooner :)

First, your troop needs to decide on a country to present.  I would like to suggest you pick one of the highlighted countries from WAGGGS or GSUSA, but you can also choose any other country that has scouting...Please email me with your troop's choice.  It will be a first come, first serve basis...but please do not repeat a country that was presented last year.  This will keep our celebration new and fresh!  As troops reserve countries I will notify all of you...

The theme from WAGGGS this year is girls worldwide say “together we can end extreme poverty and hunger”.

They have chosen five countries to highlight: Haiti, Georgia, Maldives, Sudan, and Zimbabwe

GSUSA has chosen these five countries: Germany, Kuwait, Peru, The Philippines and South Africa.

So please choose your country and let me know, so we can put the passports together!  Have fun learning about your country, the scouts there and the issues that they have related to poverty.  Check out the WAGGGS and GSUSA website for Thinking Day help, and activities.
